Wintersun was bigger than ever before this year with 100,000 people gathering together for fun in the winter sun. There were bands on almost every street corner, and people from everywhere enjoying the beautiful weather and fantastic entertainment, and that included us.
Yes, Brandi and the Badcats were invited to play there this year and what an experience that was.
We got to play at two locations, the ballroom on Saturday night, and outside the Night Owl store on Sunday afternoon.
Both gigs were a buzz with the dance floor packed for our whole set on Saturday night and a large crowd gathering to enjoy our cool cat music on Sunday. We noticed many people singing along with our songs, including our originals and discovered that a lovely lady who was sitting right up the front (and who forgot to tell me her name, so I can't thank her properly, but she will know who she is) had bought our CD the night before and had played it on her car stereo blasting the street with our music. Quite a crowd had gathered around her car that night and had obviously learnt some of our songs. That was the biggest buzz of the whole weekend.
A big thank you goes out to Barry McNamarra and his wonderful crew of volunteers who work so hard all year to get this show on the road. Without you wonderful people r'n'r would surely die.
