Philip Island Hot Rod Show.
Tuesday29th Dec 2003 we get a call from John from Classic Rods about the Hot Rod Show in Philip Island. It seems the band they had booked to open the show pulled out and they needed a replacement pronto.The people from dance with Petticoats had recomended us (so a big thankyou to them) - could we do it? Yes we could! Even though we had just taken on a new keyboard player;but with 20 years of experience behind him, we knew he'd cut it.
The weather was beautiful; the Rods were magnificent; and we fired.Alan said he'd never played like that before; the energy of the band was soo high! What a great gig! Pity the weather didn't hold out for the rest of the weekend, I believe Sunday was a washout.
