| The
gig at Yarraville
Thanks
to Greg Lynch again for another great night. We opened the show for
him and it was wonderful to have musicians of the calibre of Steve Williams
from John Farnhams band on sax and harp and the legendary Harold Frith
on drums working alongside us.
Although
we played our set when everyone was cold (it was a freezing cold and
stormy night outside) and sober, we still managed to get a few brave
souls up to dance, and by the end of our 50 minutes the ice was broken
and the floor was full.
We're looking forward to seeing some of the photos that people took,
we hope they remembered the web address. Unfortunately management don't
allow bands to put their flyers out, or to sell our new C.D. in the
foyer.Still there were a number of people who managed to find the band
table and be among the first
to own our debut C.D. "Mama Rock" and what an awesome C.D.
it is if we do say so ourselves!
Thanks to John for the great photos that he took of us at the "Diamonds"
show last August (is it a year already!!!!), we hope you love the C.D.
And thanks to Kim and Rob from the Big Beat who were there and who also
bought a C.D. Tune in to 3CR on Saturday night from 8.30 as they have
promised to play it on their show!!!
Dandenong
RSL
What
a great night at Dandenong R.S.L.! The room was full with people eager
to hear the great voice of Geoff Kennedy singing Elvis and to dance
their legs off during our set. We opened the show and from the first
song a couple dressed as if they were still living in the fifties, took
to the floor and literaly burned it up!! They were as good as a floor
show and we hope they come to more of our gigs.
The band took off with Steve Williams from John Farnhams band providing
some awesome sax and harp lines.
Soon it was time for Geoff to take centre stage and what a show he put
on! His awesome voice brought the audience to tears, a magnificent show.
The Badcats came back to see the night out and filled the dance floor.
Everyone had a ball, including the management who were itching to have
us back again. Hopefully Greg Lynch of 3D productions will organise
another great night for the Badcats and Geoff Kennedy to rock on at
the Dandenong R.S.L. real soon.
Steve
Williams on sax
The
awesome Steve Williams, known to most people as the tall sax player
in John Farnhams band, is the man who has provided the sax on "Mamma
Rock", the debut C.D. by Brandi and the Badcats that is finished
at last, and has appeared with them on their two most recent gigs, at
Dandenong R.S.L. on 14th August, and Kingston (Moorrabbin) Town Hall
on 21st August. He has agreed to be a "Badcat" whenever his
commitments with John Farnham will allow.
