Rnr Festival 2005 was so much fun!
Thanks to Bernadine and the members of the committee for all their efforts. We know there is mountains of work that goes on behind the scenes, and anyone who goes to the trouble of being involved deserves a medal. Brandi and the Badcats had a ball playing for a wonderful crowd at the Ararat Town Hall on Friday night. And judging by the crowds reaction it was obvious they had a ball too, especially when Brandi treated them to six Suzi Quatro tunes; Wild One,Rock Hard, Cats Eyes, Stumblin' In, All Shook Up, and Move It. At last, I hear you say, She's putting in Suzi! Thats right all you wonderful people who have been requesting Suzi all this time, and there's more to come as the band is working in more of her material. It's great stuff and very danceable as Suzi was a very rootsy artist, even though most of her stuff came out in the 70's it has always had a 50's flavour and alot of it is danceable, as the crowd proved on Friday night by dancing to every one of Suzi's songs, even Cats Eyes! Brandi does a great job of 'doin' Suzi' and has been dubbed "Brandi Quatro" by one of the guys in the audience at the Charmers on Chalee dinner dance at the Chalembar golf Club where the band played on Saturday night, also a great venue, with great food and really friendly staff. Sunday everyone was at 'The Oval', and what a great day! Fantastic weather, a fabulous crowd, great music and awesome wheels!!!Brandi and the Badcats were the last band on and once again had the crowd transfixed, with songs from their latest album, Mama Rock, and of course two of Suzi's songs; Wild one and Rock Hard; way to go Brandi! In April Brandi and The Badcats will be at Roy and Jenni's Kialla Body Art Get Together Saturday 9th April 2005 Peppermill Hotel Motel Melbourne Rd Kialla. It's going to be a fabulous day and worth the trip you Melbourne Folk with part proceeds to Kids for Cancer. So for a great day out, maybe even a weekend away, come along to Kialla (Shepperton) and catch Brandi and the Badcats, great RnB, RnR, Rockabilly AND Suzi Q. |
