Hello Down Under! Never been there! Always wanted to!

I was a senior in High School (last year) and a few days before graduation
the teacher went around the room and asked "What are you folks planning to do
when you leave here"? I was a little nervous
but soon it was my turn. I stood up and just blurted out" I plan on a career
in music. In fact very soon I will be recording a Rock and Roll record" WOW!
as I sat back down I tho'tWhere in the world did that come from? Although I had
been doing some shows like -for free, you know talent contests and the like.
I had NO idea where or how to get a recording contract. Right after graduation
I bumped into a group called "The Five Stars" they asked me to be their
guitar player and go with them on some gigs for 10% of the take. Well.........why
not? So after about a month they told me they were going back in the studio for
another session. "Would you consider playing on the record" they asked. I was
thrilled to death. Once I met their manager Jerry Herman of "NOTE Records"
and he had me sing a couple of my own tunes, he asked"Hey cat, you wanna make a
record"? So .......let's see, that was Friday and on the following Tuesday
night at midnight we were in Chicago at (now) World famous "Chess Studios" on
South Michigan Av. (Met Chuck Berry That Night Too) We recorded "Don't you hear
me calling Baby" and "Traveler of Love" That was Feb 18th 1958. On Feb 28th it
was released. On March 15th 1958 ABC Took my contract over and I was now
getting very busy. April I think the 16th or 18th I did the American Bandstand
Show with Dick Clark
in Philladelphia.
Toured with guys like Don Gibson (Oh Lonesome me) Brenda Lee, Bo Diddley,
Carl Dobkins, The Everleys, and Jimmy Clanton. Met a lot of folks along the way
just like I met you! I 've always stuck my nose in where it didn't belong I
guess. Got it punched a few times too. hahahahaha! Met Chuck Berry, Elvis, Rick
Nelson, Lloyd Price, as well as DooWop groups like The Flamingos, The
DelVikings,
The Platters, and so on. Just did a show with those guys in Pittsburgh PA on
Feb 19th 2005 for the "Roots of Rock & Roll" of which I am a member. I am also
in the "Rockabilly Hall of Fame" Have you seen my web page? RONNIE HAIG <-------click on it.
(hope it opens)

When you record "Baby" send me a copy so I can hear it please!!!!!!!

I really appreciate hearing from you and good luck to you and your group!
Stay in touch!

Hi Brandi & all of your bad cats!

I’m the ugly guy that came up to the stage at the end of the night to thank you for a great night last Thursday at the Yarraville club.

And that it was. The music was just fabulous & played with passion & style.

The variety was awesome & we loved every minute.

This is the first time we’ve seen you play but hopefully not the last.

Keep up the great work

Your new fan
Eric

Brandi - I don't remember chattin' with any 'ugly' guys on Thursday night, but I do remember talking with you!

Yes it was a great night; we had a ball too.

It makes it so much better when the audience is responsive, and that night the crowd was great!

And it's great that you have taken the time to send us some feedback, do you have any objections to us posting it on our website? Feedback such as yours will help us in the quest for gigs; it's not easy breaking into the Melbourne scene, promoters are very set in their ways and they have their favorite bands.

D.J.Antony said he'll have us back, but he hasn't given us a date yet, maybe you can give him some encouragement.

Hello Brandi and the BadCats!

Enjoyed your performance at the Homestead on Friday night! Do you have any CD'S of the songs that you sang on Friday night.

Thanks once again!
Alan
Brandi - Thanks for the e-mail; it's great to get a little bit of feedback. Our new C.D. will be a mix of our favourite songs, 4 originals and 10 covers. We cover people like Ruth Brown, Tiny Topsy, Janice Martin, La Vern Baker, Ronnie Haig, Gene Vincent, among others. We've got some of them on C.D. but not all.
